Ripping or downloading videos from Instagram on your computer is fairly easy and can be done in a minute or two once you know how to do it. Follow my quick and easy steps below to download any video from Instagram in a matter of seconds without having to download additional software. This is the way I do it in Firefox.
Download Instagram videos with developer tools in Firefox. A similar method can be used in other web browsers that have developer tools.
I found a video on president Trump’s Instagram page that I wanted to save to my computer. Click on the desired video to bring it into focus.Press “F12” on your keyboard to bring up the developer tools inspector. Your developer tools may look different than mine because I am using night mode.
On Mac OS, press “Command + F” to quickly search for a phrase. On Windows, press “Control + F.”
- Type “.mp4” into the search box and press enter. You may have to press enter more than once in order to find the source URL of the video file.
Right click on the source URL and then click on “open link in new tab.”- The raw .mp4 file will open in a new tab without all the Instagram bloat behind it. Simply right click the video and then click on “save video as.” Rename the file to something relevant, if you want, and then save the video file. This will start downloading the video to your machine and you’re done. Repeat this process as needed.
